Nicholas received a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Michigan University and a Juris Doctorate degree from Wayne State University Law School in 2019, where he graduated cum laude and was the 2019 recipient of the Eastern District of Michigan’s Ralph M. Freeman Scholarship for excellence in Evidence.
During law school, Nicholas focused on honing his trial and appellate advocacy skills, participating with Wayne Law’s Mock Trail and Moot Court programs. He participated in the 2018 Herbert Wechsler National Criminal Moot Court Competition, where his team finished as quarter finalists, and the 2018-2019 New York Bar Association’s National Moot Court Competition, where his team earned the third best brief in their region. Additionally, he was a winner of the Fall 2017 and Winter 2018 Mock Trial In-House Competitions at Wayne Law. In addition to co-curriculars, Nicholas participated in Wayne Law’s Criminal Appellate Practice Clinic.
Outside of the law school, Nicholas interned for the Honorable Paul L. Maloney in the Federal District Court for the Western District of Michigan, and worked as a law clerk involved in collections, FDCPA litigation, and personal injury litigation.
In his free time, Nicholas enjoys playing and going on walks with his two dogs and spending time with his wife Caitlin and new son Alex.
